Two Thousand Eighteen: A Game Plan

2018 goals


It’s the last day of the year, and we wanted to make sure to end 2017 with Confession and Mass. Experiencing the cleansing mercy of absolution, closely followed by the reception of Our Lord in the Eucharist, was just what my soul needed on a day when the temperature outside is dropping like a rock and the hours of the year dwindle to a close. We went to one of the only parishes in Houston that offers Reconciliation on Sundays – Our Lady of Czestochowa on Blalock. Would you just look at this gorgeousness?

Go Light Your World


I have so many dear friends going through pretty serious trials right now.  Trials of health; suffering marriages; financial crises.  I find myself desperate to help, but how?  By praying for them.  I am also praying for you, dear reader, reading this right now.  There are so many worries and such horrible things happening in our world.  We are not to bury or heads in the sand, but we are called to be a light in the darkness.

7 Quick Takes — Spelling Bees, Catholic Radio, and a Monsoon [vol. 8]

Well, it’s the last official weekend of summer, and we intend to continue to sweat to death as we drown in boiling humidity enjoy our warm weather while it lasts.  Between National Cheeseburger Day yesterday and my toddler walking around in a sundress, summer still feels pretty real around here.
